Access Nanaimo

Access Nanaimo is an initiative to help make Nanaimo more accessible and inclusive for those with disabilities – be they physical, auditory, verbal or related to aging.

The Access Nanaimo Committee is a group of dedicated individuals that endeavour to educate, inform and sensitize local government, the business community, and the public about the issues of accessibility and inclusion.

We hope that you find the website interesting and informative.

Team Nanaimo would like to thank Barry MacDonald of Team 1040 Radio for his comments on his morning show, berating people who use wheelchair parking spots when they do not need them. Barry spoke for several minutes on his morning talk show about this important issue. For people using wheelchairs this is an ongoing problem and hopefully his comments will make a difference.
